Be Part of Faculty Appreciation Week
OCJH Faculty Appreciation Week is May 7-11. The committee will be meeting Friday morning at 10. If you’d like to get involved contact Chair Angie Pedersen at 801-616-7396 or littleredped@gmail.com

Sucker Sales
It’s not too late to help with one of the funnest ways to volunteer at Oak Canyon - sucker sales on Fridays at lunch or at evening performances. Check out this sign up and see if you’re able to come be part of the fun. It’s a really great opportunity to interact the OCJH students and you’ll be able to get your suckers at half price! We really need help with 2nd lunches (12:15-12:45), if this is a time you can help please sign up.

The 2017-2018 Eagle Cards are now available for only $5 and include over 30 amazing offers! They’re good until the end of August so get a few now!

We want to know what offers you love on your Eagle Card! Watch for our Facebook promo and and you could win a free Eagle Card just for posting a picture of where you love to use your card and including #lovemyeaglecard

March Update

Dear PTSA Members,

Thank you to everyone who helped make February such a fun month at OCJH. As we head into the 4th term of the year, we want to recognize those who go above and beyond to make a difference at Oak Canyon. After receiving numerous nominations from out PTSA members, Mr Hunter was selected as the OCJH PTSA Outstanding Educator. He was also an Outstanding Educator winner for all of our Region which encompasses the entire Alpine school district. We are so grateful to have him as part of the Oak Canyon community!

How to Get Involved
Attend the Election Meeting
We will be meeting in the library on Tuesday, March 20 from 10-11. As always, everyone is welcome. If you haven’t ever attended a PTSA meeting, but would like to know more about what we do, this is a great way to get started. We love seeing new faces and hearing new ideas! At this month’s meeting, we will be electing the executive board for next year. We hope you’ll join us.

Faculty Gift Baskets
Thank you for all of the support on  he faculty gift baskets. We’re very close to having all of the faculty covered,  it we have some urgent needs! There are 3 faculty members in the next 2 weeks who need baskets - please see if you can help! Simply sign up here and then you will receive information about some of the faculty member’s favorite things. You can put together a basket of some of those things on your own time and drop it off at the office for delivery on their special day. We ask that you keep it to around $20 per basket. This is a fun and easy way to serve our fabulous Oak Canyon faculty!

February Update

Dear PTSA Members,

February is an exciting month at Oak Canyon! There are a lot of fun things happening - Book Fair, Oak Canyon’s Got Talent and Career Day just to name a few. Please stop by the PTSA table in the foyer during Parent Teacher Conferences. It’s never too late to join PTSA, get involved or buy an Eagle Card which are now only $5. We’ll also have suckers available to get you through the night! I hope to see you there!

Monday, February 12th:  7:15 a.m - 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday, February 13th:  7:15 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 14th:  7:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 15th:  7:15 a.m. - 12:50 p.m.

Would you like to volunteer at the Book Fair?  Get $5 for volunteering for a shift.  Sign up here.  (If you sign up for 2 shifts you will get 2 certificates, but anything after the 2 shifts will be greatly appreciated and a donation of your time. (We can only do up to $10 per volunteer.)

Can't get to the School Book Fair? Have grandparents or other family that would like to purchase your student a book and have it delivered to the school?  Shop online at:  http://www.scholastic.com/bf/oakcanyonjuniorhighschool. Have your students stop in the fair for candy guesses, drawings, tell us about what books they are excited about.

Oak Canyon’s Got Talent
You won’t want to miss the 2018 Oak Canyon’s Got Talent! With more than 20 amazing acts this is sure to be the best show yet so mark your calendars for Friday, February 23 at 7 pm. The show will be in the school auditorium.  

Tickets will go on sale the day of the show. There will be a pre-sale during lunch in conjunction with sucker sales. Pre-sale prices are $3 or $15 per family (immediate family only please). Tickets will also be available at the door for $5 each or $20 per family. Rehearsals will be February 22 & 23.
